Algernon

Cat

1998 - 1/6/2011

"Algernon was a funny cat -- he loved sitting in my lap, but hated to be picked up. He was always the one who let me know it was time for breakfast or dinner, and he ate like a horse to the end. He was always very mellow, but a big scaredy at the same time. He hated the vacuum cleaner and would run and hide when I pulled it from the closet."

"The night that Chak arrived, Algernon ran and hid on top of the cabinets in the kitchen, but it didn't take long for him to become accustomed to, and then buddies with, the little ball of black fur. They ended up being the best of buddies and I know Chak will miss him, too."

Yoda and Joe both knew there was something wrong with Algernon at the end and they were very deferential toward him, letting him eat first and letting him have the best spots on the sofa to sleep.

"Enjoy your time at the Bridge until we're reunited, my little man. I will miss you."

Doggonegame Ben Braggie Angus

"Angus"

Scottish Terrier

RB January 10, 2011

"It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that Angus left us early this morning just 56 day short of his 14th birthday. Angus's dad was Destiny's Staying Power and his mum was Ben Braggie's Dapper Heather. Angus never met a dog he didn't like, nor a cat either for that matter. His first friend was Boris the cat who lived down the street, whenever they saw each other they would run, throw their arms around each other and roll on the ground to the astonishment of anyone who saw them.
He will be missed more than I can say."

After a week at the vet's, undergoing multiple transfusions, and exhaustive treatments, she left me all too soon, from a unknown something that zapped her appetite and her zest for life...

He was my Christmas gift that brought me joy every day for seven years. A proud brindle Scottie that took his watch dog duty very seriously, I could always depend on him. He gave a big "agroooo, rooooo, rooooo" to let you know he was excited to see you, especially if you were ready to go for a walk. I wasn't ready to say good-bye, but you had to go. So, I will always keep you in my heart."

A Scottie's Prayer
Treat me kindly my beloved master
for no heart in all the world is more
grateful for kindness than mine

Speak to me often for your voice is the
world's sweetest music, as you must know
by the fierce wagging of my tail.

May I walk by your side master...standing
ready to protect you with my life should
your life be in danger.

Master, if I become very ill or when I am very old,
may I stay with you as my life is taken gently.
With my last breath I take knowing my fate
was always safe in your hands.

THE LAST BATTLE

If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.

You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.

We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.

Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.

Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
We've been so close -- we two -- these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Angus

Scottish Terrier

10/17/97 - 06/01/11

RIP Angus MacDonald

Spend all your time watching for that second chance
For the break that will make it okay
There's always some reason to feel not good enough
And it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction oh beautiful releases
Memories seep from my veins
They may be empty and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight

In the arms of the Angels, fly away from here
From the endless watching by your mom and day
Your are pulled from the illness of your suffering here
You're in the arms of an angel; may you find some comfort there
So tired of the treatments and everywhere you turn
There's pills and more darkness
The storm keeps on twisting; you kept on fighting
That you made up for each day this is lost
It don't make no difference, escaping one last time
It's easier to believe
In this sweet madness, oh this painful sadness
That brings me to my knees

In the arms of an angels, far away from here
From this dark cold earth oh so far away
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent pain
In the arms of an angel, may you find some comfort there

In the arms of an angel
We'll miss you so
Your were one sweet furchild
So hard to let go
In the arms of an angel
You now rest
God called you this day
He wanted the best
Sleep sweetly our dear Angus
You brought us such joy
Our tears flow so freely
You I'll be missed so much our dear boy
We'll watch till we see you
And you give us the cue
That you arrived safely
We'll be watching for you
Kiss all of the others who've gone before
With angel wings you will now soar

"Our dearest sweet Angus, we will miss you far more than words can ever say. Your gentle nature, your sweet, loving ways, your sweet face ; rest peacefully our darling--------until we meet again, we will always love you and cherish those sweet memories that are left here with us. There are just no words that are large enough to say how much you were loved here on earth but you knew that; we will feel your gentle spirit as it comes to us on that golden thread that connects heaven with earth."

Warrior Princess

Scottish Terrier

The Warrior Princess' lymphoma battle is over...
She lived each day at 'full throttle'...
Lived joyously, always with that wicked gleam in her eye...
"No" was not a word she allowed into her world...
She showed how life SHOULD be lived...
The world is 'dimmer' now without her GLOWING spirit!
I was so blessed to have been allowed to share her amazing life adventure...
God Bless, my beloved Wild Child! You're my heart....

"She was quiet and unassuming at home but the true leader of our pack when we went for our walks. True to the breed, she gave her attention only to those she deemed worthy. Daisy was our “house mouse” and she gave us so much joy and love. We miss her dearly but we know she is in a better place and frolicking with our other nine clan members who preceded her. You will live on in our hearts and we smile when we think of you and knowing we will all walk together again."

Scottish Terrier

November 2001 - August 2011

"Keagan gave Jasmine courage. Jasmine gave Keagan sweet friendship. He waited for her. She waited for him. They were always together. Often he rested his chin across her back. She would chase after him with her eyes sparkling with joy when he tossed her toy in the air and chased after her. She could turn quickly away from him, and then encourage him to chase her again. They are now together again. Her quiet little spirit will never be forgotten and We are at peace knowing that Keagan was there at the Rainbow Bridge to show her the way. Thank you Jasmine for your love, your loyalty and your sweetness. Thank you for welcoming our newest Scotty friend, amazingly little Grace. You welcomed her to your home so you could go to Keagan knowing we were not alone.
We shall never forget you, and we think and believe you will never forget us."

And I awaken
With the memory of your sturdy
Scottie body snuggled tightly against
The back of my legs.
I miss your warmth,
As teardrops darken my pillowcase.
I find MacKenna,
Your dear friend of five years
Combing the house in search of you--
Her best friend.
She drapes herself over my leg,
Always your favorite spot--
With eyes and ears attentive to your return.
MacBirch carries on with life,
Enjoying the innocence of puppyhood.
On this Christmas Eve day,
A gift that came my way nearly nine years ago
Is absent.
An irreplaceable gift
Forever to be cherished--
Of joy and loyalty
Of love
Of you, Brogan
My friend forever."
